In honor of the Sons of Liberty I cast my tea into the deep abyss

We find ourselves living in strange times. A plant that has been with mankind since the 18th century B.C. has been made illegal by a government out of control. The views of a single man bent on eliminating the “degradation” of the illegal Mexican alien, and the jazz movement Negroes.

That policy (The Marihuana Tax Act) removed the cannabis plant from medical community, making it possible to deny the public access to the wonderful healing properties of marijuana. Junk science and a passion for “saving the souls” of the American people ended up as a pressure point to exert over the U.N. making all civilized countries outlaw the plant, as a “powerful narcotic”.

Enough is enough! Science has linked cannabis to the destruction of cancerous tumors in Israel, shown to have no cancer causing effects even though it is smoked according to a Los Angeles study. The Institute of Medicine has done a study where the very position of the anti-cannabis movement is nullified. Cannabis does not cause psychosis, it is not physically, and should be re-examined as a form of medicine.

The FDA has refused to listen to doctors and scientists, despite the findings of old and new and has declared that cannabis has no merit as medication. What hypocrisy. The organization itself has become the political arm of the government and anti-cannabis sentiment. When did we begin ignoring science for myths and legends?

Mothers and Fathers are being ripped away from their children, their properties seized, and their lives destroyed by the War on Drugs, which is really a nice way of saying, a War on People who are peaceful and smoke cannabis. The government is arresting sick people and denying them cannabis, which too many has been the very medicine that has been keeping them alive since big pharmacy failed them.

When will the madness end?
